New Learning Hub Site
As of February 2025 all content and learning resources officially transferred from the legacy site service provider SharpCloud, to a new service hosted on WordPress. While the new site incorporates significant improvements over the legacy version, a number of elements have been incorporated to ensure familiarity for users of the previous SharpCloud platform:
Home Page
A significant amount of user feedback has been incorporated into the design of the new site from previous surveys, and this has influenced the design of the new Home Page. Users will immediately note the new style of header menu located at the top of the page. This works in a similar way to the legacy SharpCloud Home Page, however each item now incorporates its own set of sub-menu items.
Users can now navigate directly to specific pages on the site directly from the header menu if they so choose. If users prefer to review page contents before navigating to a specific location on the site, this can be done by clicking on the parent menu item for each sub-menu. Each parent item has been assigned its own page containing a set of ‘Topic Contents’. Users can review the contents of each topic or sub-topic before navigating to each page individually.

Site Search
A significant improvement over the legacy SharpCloud site is the incorporation of a ‘Search’ function into the Home Page. This allows users to search for key words, subjects of interest and specific resources, without having to navigate to the page in question. This functionality is also replicated in the footer menu under the ‘Quick Search’ header, allowing users to search the site without having to navigate back to the Home Page.

Page Navigation
Users of the legacy SharpCloud site will note the lack of internal links providing forwards/backwards navigation functionality. Thanks to the provision of the new header menu structure, all page links can now be accessed from every page on the site. This means that regardless of location, users can utilise the header menu as a means of returning to previously viewed pages of switch between other topic areas where required. Users can also use the browser ‘Back’ button to return to previously viewed pages if required.
Colour Coding
As with the legacy SharpCloud site, individual pages are colour coded to reflect the category they sit within. These are intended to provide users with an immediate visual reference of their relative position within the site structure based on the following defined categories:
- Dark Blue – Navigation level category. Page headers in this colour are intended
to act as navigation waypoints to descriptive text, information and general
resources supporting the Learning Hub portal. This includes items such as overview text,
maps, and links to relevant media. - Orange – Headings level category. Page headers in this colour indicate headers
for specific detail resources. This includes sub links to Resource level pages and in
particular individual learning themes. - Red – Resources level category. Page headers in this colour cover individual
detail resources. These include detail on specific sub-topics/themes, learning point detail and uploaded resource files such as documents, images land other media. - Light Blue – Media resource category. Page headers in this colour indicate the location of general media resources that do not fall within the category of supporting documents. This includes image and video libraries, as well as other supporting media resources.
- Grey – Incomplete category. Page headers in this colour indicate that this
section of the hub is incomplete and has not yet been updated to include
learning data.

Page Format
WordPress incorporates a very different page format to SharpCloud, specifically the lack of individual clickable tiles within each story page. The new Learning Hub site utilises standard web pages to host text, document, image and other content, without the need to embed this in in separate tiles. For users used to the original tile structure, each page has been broken down into individual headers. Where practicable, these headers match the story tile equivalents found in SharpCloud. Users can simply scroll to the desired header topic as opposed to clicking on a specific story tile link.
Resources
The new Learning Hub site incorporates a more streamlined approach to managing uploaded resources. A full list of all available resources associated with each learning theme/topic is included at the bottom of each page where applicable. As with the topic contents, each resource header has been aligned to match the tile headers found in SharpCloud as far as possible. Users can view resource details on the left of the relevant section, and click the ‘Download’ button on the right as required. This will initiate download of the relevant document, image, video or other resource to the users locally assigned Downloads folder. File names have been aligned to resource titles as far as practicable, within the limits of file naming conventions.

User Registration/Login
In addition to general site changes, the new Learning Hub will require users to create a different account to the one they currently use to access SharpCloud. Due to data protection restrictions, account details are not transferrable, but the new account request process is simple to manage. Access to the Learning Hub Home Page is available to all parties browsing the hub site, however access to menu items and resources requires users to login in order to access.
New users can apply for an account by clicking on the ‘Register’ button on the Home Page or by clicking the equivalent link provided in the footer menu at the bottom of the page under ‘Quick Links’. This will generate an access request form, which new users will be required to complete. This will generate an access request to the site administrators, which will be approved subject to meeting minimum user criteria.
Once registered, users can access restricted areas of the Learning Hub site by clicking on the ‘Login’ button at the top right of the page or via the ‘Quick Links’ footer menu at the bottom. Alternatively, users who are not logged in can click on one of the restricted page links, which will generate the same login request page for access.
Sitemap
As per the legacy SharpCloud site a sitemap is provided to give users an overview of the new Learning Hub structure. The new site retains most of the the structural characteristics of its SharpCloud counterpart with some minor differences. A key difference is the consolidation of several sub-topics under the ‘Project Description’ header. This now incorporates ‘Governance Structure’, which was a separate menu header item on the legacy SharpCloud site Home Page. In addition the ‘Media Library’ has been consolidated to include image and video galleries categorised by topic content. These are now accessible individually from the header menu and include caption descriptions where applicable.
